The Netherlands is one of the biggest exporters in the EU. More than 85 percent of the country’s GDP comes from exports of goods and services. Lately, successful start-ups like WeTransfer have taken the country to new heights. As quoted by businessbecause.com, the credit goes to Dutch multinationals.

The Director of MBA Programs at Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Ann van Dam, confirmed the news. She said that the Netherland’s recent success is rooted in the Dutch culture. The entire country is built on the Dutch saying - ‘Don’t talk; just do it’.

RSM is aiming at implementing the same culture in its International MBA Program. Overseas Students can explore diverse Entrepreneurship ideas at the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship (ECE). It is home to more than 100 Start-ups.

Overseas Students studying at RSM can take part in Start-up Boot Camps. The program is supported by many Entrepreneurs. Every year over 20,000 visitors take part in events conducted by ECE. It’s a great means for Overseas Students to network. They can meet potential investors through these events.

The Entrepreneurship system in the Netherlands has a social flavour to it. The number of Social Start-ups in the country is on the rise. There are about 5000 such enterprises in the country at present.

The Venture Café Rotterdam hosts meet-ups for potential Entrepreneurs every week. Currently, it is focusing on cleantech, sustainable leadership, and the circular economy.  RSM is one of the world’s best Business Schools. Overseas Students are often encouraged to work with local NGOs. This helps them in getting the right exposure.

Ann said that RSM will aim at connecting students to various opportunities in the country. The country has always endorsed Entrepreneurship. The country and its economy are welcoming to innovative ideas.

The Dutch Government offers a Start-up Visa to non-EU Overseas Students. They must be willing to start a new business in the Netherlands. The Government will give them a year to set up the Start-up. The Visa might even be extended for another year.
