The US reached the CAP for FY23

The US has reached the cap of 65,000 for the fiscal year 2023. H-1B visa permits the companies in the US to recruit international workers for the positions that require technical expertise.

The technology companies in the US depend on the visa and hire thousands of employees each year. That is the reason the H-1B visa is very popular among the foreign workers.

Cap for FY23

The US has received 65,000 congressionally mandated H-1B cap for regular visas and 20,000 for master’s cap for FY23. This information was released by USCIS. USCIS has sent the non-selection notifications to the accounts of the registrants. USCIS said that the petitions that are exempted from the cap will be accepted and processed.

Petitions that have been filed for the current H-1B workers are exempted from the cap of FY23 if they have been counted against the cap and have the current cap number. USCIS will also process the petitions that have been filed for the following:

Extension of the amount of time that a current H-1B visa holder can stay in the US

• Change the terms and conditions of the employment
• Give [permission to the current H-1B workers to change their employers
• Permit the current H-1B workers to work for additional H-1B positions.
