Recently, there was a meeting held of the Forum of Ministers Responsible for Immigration (FMRI). In the meeting, provincial immigration ministers discussed the common issues and methods to retain and attract more immigrants.
The first multi-year provincial immigration plan was also endorsed in the meeting, which has set immigration targets for three years. According to this plan, each province will know its allocation of provincial nominations beforehand. And with this, they will be able to plan the housing and infrastructure requirements for the newcomers.
