In order to hit the immigration target, Canada sets a record in welcoming Permanent Residents.
The maple leaf country has set its target to 401,000 new permanent residents in 2021. To fulfill its target, it is welcoming more and more immigrants per month.
In September, 45,000 newcomers were invited. But Ottawa should reach the level in October, November, and December to surpass the implausible immigration intake.
The immigration-friendly country, Canada, has welcomed 267,385 new permanent residents at the end of the third quarter of 2021.
That means in January and September 2021, Canada invited 29,700 new immigrants on average, which is high compared to other years.
To reach Canada's immigration target, Ottawa has to invite an average of 44,500 new permanent residents per month in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Why is Canada welcoming a huge number of new PRs?
Canada is inviting more number of candidates in 2021 because of various factors:
The mammoth express entry draw in February issued 27,332 invitations to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. Moreover, 90 percent of these have already started working in Canada.
The TR to PR Pathway targeted 90,000 permanent resident applications under which the following sectors were targeted to invite:
| Factors | Maximum points allotted |
| Language proficiency in English or French | 28 points |
| Education | 25 points |
| Work Experience | 15 points |
| Age | 12 points |
| Employment arranged in Canada | 10 points |
| Adaptability | 10 points |
