All invitations in the latest BC PNP draw went out to candidates through the BC PNP’s Skills Immigration category. Those with a valid profile in the federal Express Entry system received invitations under the Express Entry BC (EEBC) stream. Others got invited through the Skills Immigration (SI) pathway that runs independently.
An Express Entry candidate that is able to secure a PNP nomination is guaranteed an invitation to apply by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
What is BC PNP Tech? |
Tech draws are held by the province of British Columbia under Canadian PNP through BC PNP Tech that works within the Skills Immigration BC PNP pathway. BC PNP Tech offers skilled foreign workers in 29 in-demand tech occupations a prioritized Canada PR pathway to settle in British Columbia as permanent residents. Extended indefinitely and renamed accordingly, BC PNP Tech provides tech employers within the province the continued ability to recruit and retain international talent wherever local skilled workers were unavailable. So far, BC PNP Tech has supported 6,000 tech workers to be nominated for permanent residence in Canada. Earlier known as “BC PNP Tech Pilot”, BC PNP Tech was launched in May 2017. To be eligible for being considered for a nomination under BC PNP Tech pathway, the job offer in BC must be for a minimum of one year, with at least 120 days remaining when submitting the application for a BC PNP nomination. 80% of BC PNP applications are processed in 2 to 3 months (from the date of receipt of the application by the BC PNP). Tech applications are processed in a comparatively shorter timeframe. |
British Columbia is projected to have 861,000 job openings between 2019 and 2029.
