British Colum PNP Draw June 29

The province of British Columbia in Canada has held another round of invitations under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP].

With the exception of Quebec that has its own immigration programs, and Nunavut territory that has no immigration programs, all the other provinces and territories in Canada are a part of the PNP.

On June 29, 2021, British Columbia PNP invited another 52 Canada immigration hopefuls to apply for being nominated by the BC PNP for their permanent residence in Canada.

As the latest BC PNP draw was a Tech draw, candidates from the Skills Immigration [SI] and Express Entry BC [EEBC] categories that had a valid job offer in BC in any of the 29 key occupations were considered.

An Overview of June 29 BC PNP Tech draw  Total invitations issued: 52
Immigration Streams Minimum SIRS Score
EEBC – Skilled Worker 80
EEBC – International Graduate 80
SI – Skilled Worker 80
SI – International Graduate 80

The SI category of the BC PNP is for skilled and semi-skilled workers in occupations in high demand within British Columbia.

The EEBC category, on the other hand, is for skilled workers that intend settling in BC after being granted Canadian permanent residence.

While the EEBC is linked with the IRCC Express Entry system, the SI runs independently. No British Columbia work experience is required to be eligible for the EEBC.

Canada PR through the PNP is a 2-step process
STEP 1: Firstly, a PNP nomination will have to be secured by the candidate. STEP 2: The candidate can then apply – with their Nomination Certificate issued by the nominating provincial or territorial government [PT] – to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] for Canada PR.

For a federal Express Entry candidate, a PNP nomination is worth 600 CRS ranking points, as per the Comprehensive Ranking System.

A PNP nomination is thus a guarantee of the nominated Express Entry candidate being invited to apply in a subsequent federal draw to be held.

As on June 21, 2021, there were 778 Express Entry profiles in the CRS 601 to 1,200 score range. The total number of profiles in the Express Entry profile was 166,246.

There are nearly 80 different immigration pathways available under the PNP, many linked with IRCC Express Entry.

The BC PNP Tech Pilot has been extended indefinitely and renamed accordingly. The BC PNP Tech offers individuals in 29 key tech occupations pathway to permanent residency in Canada, as well an opportunity of contributing to the shared prosperity of the province of British Columbia.

Since its launch, the BC PNP Tech has supported over 6,000 tech workers to be nominated by the BC PNP for Canada PR.

The province of British Columbia in Canada is expected to have 861,000 job openings between 2019 and 2029.

With the latest BC PNP draw, over 5,800 invitations have been issued by British Columbia PNP in 2021 so far.
