The AINP is one of many Provincial Nominee Programs in Canada. The PNP allows participating territories and provinces to nominate economic immigrants for Canadian PR each year.
All the states and territories in Canada that run a PNP have at least one stream that is aligned with the Federal Express Entry Program.
The AINP conducted 3 invitation rounds in September and invited a total of 852 EE candidates.
The Alberta Express Entry Stream selects candidates from the Express Entry Pool who are working in occupation of economic importance to Alberta. It also selects candidates who have a strong connection to the province.
You do not need a job offer to qualify for the Alberta Express Entry Stream. However, having a job offer heightens your chances of getting an invitation.
A provincial nomination helps you get 600 points added to your Comprehensive Ranking System Score. This is turn guarantees that you get an ITA to apply for a Canadian PR, as per CIC News.
The latest Alberta Express Entry Stream draw saw the cut-off increase to 400 as compared to the previous draws. In the previous rounds candidates with CRS scores as less as 300 were selected. However, the cut-off score of 400 is markedly lower than the current Federal Express Entry cut-off score of 464.
The AINP has invited 6,088 Express Entry candidates so far in 2019.
