Alberta has released information regarding the draws conducted on 11th September and 18th September. Express Entry candidates with CRS scores as low as 302 have been selected this month.
The draws were conducted under the Alberta Express Entry Stream of the AINP (Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program). The Alberta Express Entry Stream picks eligible candidates from the EE Pool who work in an occupation of economic importance to Alberta. The stream also picks candidates who demonstrate ties to the province.
Having a job offer from Alberta increases your chances of receiving an invitation from Alberta for a provincial nomination.
Candidates who are selected from the EE Pool are issued a Notification of Interest (NOI). The NOI allows them to apply for a provincial nomination to Alberta. A provincial nomination adds 600 more points to your CRS score in the Express Entry Pool.
The 11th September draw invited 339 candidates with the minimum cut-off as low as 302. In the second draw held on 18th September, 139 NOIs were issued with the lowest CRS score being 350.
The Alberta Express Entry Stream is fast becoming a very popular route as it invites candidates with very less CRS scores. These candidates otherwise would not have a chance in the Federal Express Entry cut-off.
The lowest cut-off in Alberta draws this year has been 300. In contrast, the lowest cut-off score in the Federal Express Entry system has been 438 in 2019.
Alberta has issued 4,378 provincial nominations in 2019 so far.
