Alberta invites 100 with CRS 300 in the March draw

Alberta held the latest provincial draw on 4th March inviting 100 applicants to apply for a provincial nomination for Permanent Residency of Canada. Candidates with a CRS score as low as 300 were invited in the 4th March draw.

Invitations issued by Alberta under the Alberta EE stream are called Notifications of Interest. Invited candidates do not need to have a job offer to be invited under the Alberta Express Entry Stream. However, they must have an active profile in IRCC’s Express Entry Pool.

Candidates who received an NOI in the 4th March draw can apply for a provincial nomination through Alberta. The ones who get a provincial nomination will increase their CRS score by 600 points.

Canada invited 668 candidates with a provincial nomination in the 18th March draw.

The Express Entry is the main source of skilled immigrants in Canada. It handles the applicant pool for all three major economic migration programs- FSTC, FSWC and CEC.

Eligible candidates in the Express Entry Program are scored using the Comprehensive Ranking System. Highest-scoring candidates receive an invitation to apply for Permanent Residence of Canada in regular draws conducted by the IRCC.

What are the eligibility requirements for the Express Entry Stream of Alberta?

To be eligible under the Alberta EE Stream, you must have work experience in an occupation that is in demand in Alberta. The AINP, however, does not have a list of in-demand occupations.

You do not need a job offer to qualify under the Alberta EE Stream. However, you will be given priority if:

• You have prior work experience or a job offer from Alberta
• You have completed a degree from a post-secondary educational institution in Canada. Such candidates must also have a job offer.
• You already have a blood relative (sibling, parent or child) living in Alberta

Alberta has issued 751 invitations to Express Entry candidates in 2020. The province issued 11,137 invitations in 2019 through the Alberta Express Entry Stream.
