Sponsor Parents and Grandparents for Canadian Immigration

Permanent residents and Canadian citizens can sponsor their parents and grandparents to immigrate to Canada. Individuals who have submitted the interest to sponsor form in 2020 and if they are invited to apply for the 2023 intake can sponsor their parents and grandparents to become permanent residents of Canada. Under the Parents and Grandparents program (PGP), 15,000 applications will be accepted by IRCC this year. IRCC sent 24,200 invitations to apply to potential sponsors between October 10 and October 23, 2023.

According to the latest data from IRCC, 33,570 new permanent residents were welcomed to Canada in October, and 29,430 new permanent residents were welcomed in November. Despite that change in PGP immigration in November, PGP still had 26,600 new permanent residents in the first 11 months of the year.
