How to migrate to Canada as a caregiver?

Canadian Government offers caregiver programs to attract foreign caregivers to migrate to the country. According to a recent update, Caregivers are now eligible for immediate Permanent Residency in Canada under the New Pilot Program. In the 2024-2026 Immigration Levels Plan, Canada is looking to welcome 15,000 new permanent residents through caregiver programs.

You would be eligible to apply for the new caregiver pilot program if you:

  • Have minimum language proficiency of CLB 4 in English or NCLC 4 in French
  • Have completed high school diploma or higher
  • Have relevant work experience
  • Have a full-time caregiver job offer in Canada

Canadian immigration Marc Miller stated, "Caregivers play a critical role in supporting Canadian families and our programs need to reflect their invaluable contributions. As we work to implement a permanent caregivers program, these two new pilots will not only improve support for caregivers, but also provide families with the quality care they deserve."
