Germany

A new ‘Opportunity Card’ has been launched by Germany to invite more skilled workers. Germany uses a points system to invite candidates to look for a job in the country.

Denmark

Denmark needs skilled workers in all kinds of industries and it is looking for highly-skilled professionals from other countries. The requirement is needed in the fields of science, engineering, healthcare, teaching, IT and software, and many other industries.

Denmark introduced two lists on July 1, 2022, and will be effective till December 31, 2022. These lists are:

  • Positive List for People with a Higher Education
  • Positive List for Skilled Work

Denmark’s Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) published these lists. Candidates can apply for a Danish work permit and residence visa if they get a job in any of the industries. The validity of the residence permit will be valid till the tenure of employment. Currently, there are 71,400 job vacancies available in the country in private sector. The highest number of jobs is available in Copenhagen.

Ireland

It is very easy to get a work visa in Ireland. The country offers short-term and long-term visas. It is necessary to have a job before applying for a work visa in Ireland. The two main work visas of the country include:

  • Critical Skills Employment Permit
  • General Employment Permit

The Critical Skills Employment Permit covers those professions that are able to provide growth to Ireland economy. The General Employment Permit covers all kinds of occupations. Candidates can apply for permanent residency after getting any of these permits.

Ireland also offers working holiday visa to the citizens of the following countries:

Portugal

Portugal has launched a short-term visa recently for those workers who want to work for one season only. Portuguese Work Visa allows the candidates to work for nine months. Candidates can also work for more than one company in that period if they want to have a seasonal job.

It takes a long time for the processing of the long-term work visa. Candidates having this visa can stay and work in Portugal for two years. Candidates can apply for permanent residency if they stay in the country for five years.
