How do I migrate to Australia as a teacher?

Australia’s skilled migration program enables suitable overseas workers in selected occupations, such as teaching, to qualify for a temporary or permanent residence visa to Australia. Teachers who want to migrate to Australia are required to complete a teaching assessment through the Australian Institutes for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL).

Teachers are in high demand throughout Australia, with the following teaching roles being on the short-term occupation list (STSOL) and in the permanent occupation strategic skills list (MLTSSL):

  • Middle school teacher

Permanent skilled occupation list (MLTSSL)
