What are the new rules for Canada Immigration?

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) are implementing major changes in Canada immigration policies according to the Immigration levels plan 2024-2026, Canada is inviting 1.5 million PRS by 2026. The country is trying to facilitate the immigration process with a number of new immigration rules. The changes are to impact employers, job seekers, students and people willing to migrate to Canada.

IRCC has announced the following recent changes in Canada immigration policies:

 

Changes to the Express Entry System

In a recent announcement, IRCC decided to hold more French category-based draws in 2024. The department is also planning to reserve 30% ITAs for French language professionals.

New Guidelines for Canada PNP

According to the Immigration Levels Plan 2024-2026, Canada PNP are expected to be the largest immigration pathway in 2024. Multi-year plans have been introduced to facilitate immigration strategies in different Canadian provinces.

Increase in PGP applications

As per the latest Immigration Levels Plan 2024-2026, Canada has targeted to accept 32,000 PGP applications in 2024. Recent reports state that Canada PGP is to accept 35,700 applications starting from May 21, 2024.

IRCC revised its policies for start-up visa programs and self-employed programs. Canada has put a cap on start-up visa applications. IRCC has also stopped accepting applications for Self-Employed Persons Program.
