Job vacancies across Western Australia have reached their highest levels in 2018 after the mining boom peak. The figures of the Australian Bureau of Statistics reveal that vacancies have increased by more than 26% over 2017. This outnumbers the national growth rate in Australia at 21%.

The job vacancies in Western Australia increased by 6.2% in the month of August 2018. More than 24,100 jobs were added in the 2nd Quarter of 2018. There have been signs of a major lift in the Mining sector, as quoted by the Insight Resources Seek.
Majority of the job vacancies in Western Australia are in the Professional Services, Administrative Services, and Health sector. However, there are indications of concern in the Retail Sector. The job vacancies in this sector have declined by 9% over 2017.
Callam Pickering the Asia-Pacific Economist for Indeed the online job search firm said that an increase in jobs is really commendable. The Western Australia job market is showing much-awaited betterment in the job market, he added. The rate of unemployment has decreased to its lowest levels after 2011, said Pickering.
