The New Zealand Jobs advertisement for the Construction sector increased by 19% and the average annual salary was $ 103, 048. Overall the Job Market in New Zealand has made a positive beginning in 2018.

Franklin Smith Director of Recruitment Lee Tyrell said that the general mood in the job market is very positive now. Specifically, the construction sector remains very strong. The real estate market is also doing well. This is a very fine beginning to the year, he added, as quoted by the Insight Resources Seek Co NZ.

The high performance of the Construction Sector in New Zealand remained steady even in the beginning of 2018. There was an increase of 19% in the numbers of Jobs ads on SEEK. The average salary advertised for the positions was $ 103, 048. Tyrell said that there is a good demand for management of projects across the Construction industry.

The enhanced growth of Construction industry is also translating into an increased demand for workers in the sector. Many of the current projects in infrastructure will take years by the time they are completed.

ERG Recruitment Group Director John Harland said that curbing immigration will lead to further demand for skilled workers in sectors such as construction. In January 2018, most of the sectors witnessed enhanced numbers of jobs on SEEK.

The Energy, Resources, and Mining sectors were on the front with a year-on-year increase of 84% for numbers of jobs ads. This nevertheless was coming from a low base.  The average annual pay for the sector was 91, 944 $.

The Logistics, Transport, and Manufacturing sectors also witnessed positive results. The numbers of ads for jobs increased year-on-year by 30%. The average annual pay for advertised jobs was 65, 519 $.
