New waiting times for employer-sponsored green cards

The employers can now pay a $2,500 fee instead of $700, the usual processing fee, in order to get the response in just 15 days. The processing duration was decreased in 2016 from 1.9 years to 1.6 years, as long as they pay the premium amount of $2,500.

In 2022, the processing time for employer-sponsored green cards has crossed a three-year wait time. Paying the processing fee of $2,500 will reduce the wait time to seven months, which means it comes down to 2 years and five months.

The US government made the average processing time for a green card 16 months in the US. During the years 2021 and 2022, a year more is added for processing time.
