UK Non-EU worker visas will be doubled after Brexit announced the Prime Minister of UK Theresa May. These UK Non-EU worker visas will be offered to workers who are promising in specific sectors. These include Technology, Science, Art and Creative sectors. It is a post-Brexit strategy for industries to present the UK as a hub for global talent, added May.
UK Non-EU worker visas will be doubled in the Exceptional Talent Tier 1 category. It will be increased to 2,000 visas per year from the current 1,000 visas. This is to attract the best and brightest global talents. Special emphasis will be on the Digital Technology sector said the UK Government.
Theresa May said that the increase in visas was a part of the range of initiatives aimed at the Digital Technology. She was speaking at the conference hosted for innovators and digital entrepreneurs from across the UK. The conference was held at Downing Street, London, as quoted by the Indian Express.
UK remains open for business even as it quits the EU clarified May. This implies that the government takes all possible measures for a secure future, specifically for the Tech sector. It must also be ensured that the benefits of the success of Tech sectors are equally distributed to all, added the Prime Minister.
May elaborated that the Tech sect in the UK is one of its fastest expanding industries. It is supporting talent and enhancing productivity. This sector is also creating several thousands of high skilled jobs across the UK, said the UK Prime Minister.
