The University of Melbourne climbed up 2 spots to rank 39^th in the world. The University houses around 50,270 students and 40% of these are international students.

• University of Sydney

The University of Sydney leapt up 8 places to rank 42^nd in the world. Established in 1850, this is one of the oldest Universities in Australia, as per Top Universities. This University came 4^th in the world for Graduate Employability Rankings 2018.

• University of New South Wales

The UNSW retained its 45^th ranking in the QS World University Rankings for 2019.

• University of Queensland

Based in Brisbane, the University of Queensland has been ranked 48^th in the world in 2019.

• Monash University

Monash University ranked 59^th in the world jointly with Shanghai Jiao Tong University of China. It has 5 campuses in Australia and 2 overseas-in South Africa and Malaysia.

• University of Western Australia

The University of Western Australia, based in Perth, went up 2 places to rank 91^st in the world.

• University of Adelaide

The University of Adelaide ranks 114^th in the world in 2019. It has been recognized for its innovations in various fields of research by the Excellence in Research Australia.

• University of Technology, Sydney

UTS improved its ranking by jumping up 16 places to rank 160^th in the world jointly with the University of Basel, Switzerland.

• University of Newcastle

The University of Newcastle climbed up 10 places to rank 214^th in 2019. This University has a total of 6 campuses including one overseas campus in Singapore.
