Australia is fast emerging as a popular study-abroad destination for international students. 37 Australian Universities featured in the QS World University Rankings for 2019. 15 of these Universities were among the top 250 of the world.
Here is a look at the top 10 Universities of Australia for 2019 as per the QS rankings:
Making it to the top among Australian Universities and 24th in the world is Australian National University. This University scored the highest score in Australia for research impact and percentage of foreign students.
The University of Melbourne climbed up 2 spots to rank 39th in the world. The University houses around 50,270 students and 40% of these are international students.
The University of Sydney leapt up 8 places to rank 42nd in the world. Established in 1850, this is one of the oldest Universities in Australia, as per Top Universities. This University came 4th in the world for Graduate Employability Rankings 2018.
The UNSW retained its 45th ranking in the QS World University Rankings for 2019.
Based in Brisbane, the University of Queensland has been ranked 48th in the world in 2019.
Monash University ranked 59th in the world jointly with Shanghai Jiao Tong University of China. It has 5 campuses in Australia and 2 overseas-in South Africa and Malaysia.
The University of Western Australia, based in Perth, went up 2 places to rank 91st in the world.
The University of Adelaide ranks 114th in the world in 2019. It has been recognized for its innovations in various fields of research by the Excellence in Research Australia.
UTS improved its ranking by jumping up 16 places to rank 160th in the world jointly with the University of Basel, Switzerland.
The University of Newcastle climbed up 10 places to rank 214th in 2019. This University has a total of 6 campuses including one overseas campus in Singapore.
