Theresa May The UK Prime Minister Theresa May has assured to keep up the European Union guarantees on worker’s rights. She assured this in her election campaign in Southern England. May also promised to ensure representation of workers on boards of companies and safeguarding retirement funds from the reckless approach of the company owners. This was a clear reference Theresa May made to the behavior of Philip Green the billionaire who was responsible for the ruin of BHS, the department store in the UK, quotes Indian Express. The Prime Minister of UK said that she plans to provide a leadership that will ensure the maximum growth of rights of workers when compared to any other past government of the Conservative Party. May made a mention of eleven assurances that includes increasing the national living wage, right to information regarding crucial decisions to workers in the companies parallel to the shareholders and new safeguards for economy workers. New rights would also be extended to workers who intends to take leave for caring for family members, or have lost a lost a child, or go for training and safeguards for those affected with psychological health concerns. These assurances by Theresa May in the UK electoral campaign are a part of her efforts to appeal to the conventional supporters of the Labor Party, the working class. She was appointed as the Prime Minister of UK after the Brexit referendum held last year and intends to secure a crucial victory in the general elections being held on June 8, 2017, so as to have a decisive mandate for exit talks with the EU.
