USA The approval rating of Donald Trump, the US President, fell to the lowest ever for any president within a 100 day term, revealed a recent poll by Gallup. At the same time, sixty percent of Americans were of the view that immigration was more beneficial than disadvantageous for their economy. This is said to be the highest level of support that immigration has got since 2005. Support for immigration increased among both Democrats and Republicans. The percentage of Democrats whose perception that immigration was beneficial grew 10 points to 79 percent during the period between December 2015 and April 2017. For the same period, the percentage of Republicans whose perception witnessed a similar change grew nine points to 37 percent.  This perception grew the highest among independents by 16 points to 63 percent. America’s Voice, an immigrant rights group, was quoted by Daily Kos as saying that the more people hear sound bytes of Donald Trump and his administration complaining against immigrants, the more the latter is garnering the support of the American public.
