Ontario invites 283 in latest PNP draw

On February 2, 2021, the province of Ontario has issued “notifications of interest by targeted occupations under Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream”.

A total of 283 Canada immigration candidates were issued invitations to apply for a nomination under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP] of Canada through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program [OINP].

The Human Capital Priorities stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program [OINP] is aligned with the federal Express Entry system. The minimum ranking required of the candidate in the Express Entry pool was that of Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] score 466 and 467.

Before a candidate can apply online for being nominated by Ontario for Canadian permanent residence, the candidate must have – ·       A valid profile in the Express Entry system of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC], and ·       Received a Notification of Interest from the OINP. At the time of the creation of the Express Entry profile, the candidate must indicate their interest in immigrating to Ontario by selecting either “Ontario” or “All Provinces and Territories”. Those receiving a Notification of Interest issued by the OINP for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream will have 45 calendar days for applying. An Express Entry candidate that is successful in securing a PNP nomination – through any of the Express Entry-linked PNP streams – is automatically allotted 600 CRS points.

As the February 2 OINP draw was a “targeted draw”, those candidates were considered that could demonstrate work experience in any 1 of the 10 eligible National Occupational Classification [NOC] codes.

Note. – An application will be refused if work experience in any of the eligible NOC codes is not demonstrated.

With the latest PNP draw by Ontario, a total of 767 NOIs have been issued by the OINP in 2021 so far –

• Human Capital Priorities stream [283 NOIs],
• French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream [146 NOIs], and
• Skilled Trades stream [338].
