Manitoba PNP Draw June 28

Manitoba in Canada has issued a record number of invitations in the latest provincial draw held under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP].

Of the 10 provinces and 3 territories that make up Canada between themselves, 9 provinces [with the exception of Quebec] and 2 territories [with the exception of Nunavut] are a part of the PNP.

There are nearly 80 immigration pathways or ‘streams’ available under the Canadian PNP.

Quebec has its own immigration programs. Nunavut has no immigration program as such.

On June 28, 2021, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program [MPNP], commonly referred to as Manitoba PNP, issued a record 1,017 invitations in the MPNP’s Expression of Interest [EOI] Draw #120.

The previous PNP draw by Manitoba was held on June 17, 2021.

An Overview of the June 28 Manitoba PNP draw
EOI Draw #120 Total LAAs issued: 1,017 Express Entry candidates invited: 1,017
Category Letters of Advice to Apply [LAAs] sent Minimum EOI score required
Skilled Workers Overseas 1,017 565

The latest MPNP draw is worthy of note in more ways than 1 –

  • All invitations went out to federal Express Entry candidates.
  • The minimum score required for Skilled Worker Overseas dropped from EOI score 703 in the June 17 draw to the EOI score 565 requirement in the latest draw.
  • No invitations went out to candidates under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba pathway.
  • No invitations for the International Education Stream.

For the candidates invited to secure a nomination, their Express Entry profiles must be valid at the time of application assessment by the MPNP.

Under the Skilled Worker stream of the MPNP, Manitoba seeks “recent graduates, skilled workers, businesspeople and their families with the intention and ability to successfully settle and economically establish in Manitoba as permanent residents”. There are 2 separate pathways under the MPNP’s Skilled Worker stream – [1] Skilled Workers in Manitoba, and [2] Skilled Workers Overseas.

Locally driven and based on the specific requirements of employers within the province, the MPNP for Skilled Workers is targeted at internationally trained and experienced workers that possess the skills in demand in the local labour market.

Such individuals are nominated by Manitoba PNP to receive Canadian permanent resident visas allowing them to settle and work in Manitoba.

With the latest MPNP draw, a total of 4,722 LAAs have been issued by the MPNP in the 14 draws held so far in 2021.
