Manitoba issues over 5000 nominations for Canada PR

Manitoba issued a record number of nominations to skilled Immigrants for Canada PR in 2018. Nearly 5200 nominations were sent, as quoted by CIC News. The following Immigration programs were part of this initiative -

• Skilled Worker in Manitoba
• Skilled worker Overseas Immigration stream
• Business Investor Stream

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is part of Canada’s PNP initiative. 5119 nominations went to Immigrants under Skilled Worker stream. The Business Stream gathered 88 nominations.

The MPNP is the most popular PNP in Canada. It has welcomed about 130,000 Immigrants over the years. About 90% of Immigrants get a job offer within the first year in Manitoba. Hence, Immigrants tend to choose to stay in the province. It  enhances their chances of attaining the Canada PR.

The MPNP confirmed that 533 candidates were selected from the Express Entry Pool. In 2018, the province launched a new Express Entry aligned pathway to the Canada PR. This pathway is open to Skilled Immigrants. The in-demand occupations list gives detailed information on vacant positions in the province.

Candidates who receive the nomination will get 600 additional points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System score. It further guarantees an invitation for the Canada PR.

Candidates must create an Expression of Interest to apply to the MPNP. They have to submit the same. The profiles receive a score out of 1000 based on the following criteria -

• Work experience
• Education
• Candidate’s connection to Manitoba

In 2018, almost 26,500 Immigrants submitted their Expression of Interest. The province selected only 8000 and sent them Letters of Advice to Apply. Skilled Immigrants with experience in the Sales sector received the most number of applications. Candidates with expertise in Business and Finance received 728 nominations. 79 percent of the nominated candidates had a job offer in Manitoba. Overseas Graduates in Manitoba have always been the province’s prime focus.
