According to the Preliminary data from the Department of Home Affairs , Indians and British are ahead compared to other nationals in the Australian citizenship.
For the fifth time, Indian migrants have emerged as the largest group of migrants to confer the Australian citizenship. As per the records, out of 138,646 migrants who were awarded with Australian citizenship, 24,706 are of Indian origin and is followed by British with 17,316 migrants.

So, logically, the number will be more in the Australian citizenship queue. Indians are enthusiastic about traveling for their economic growth, settlement in life, and about having a better life overseas.
But the pandemic has impacted a lot in the percentage of people seeking Australian citizenship.
As per the records, a fall is observed in the number of people who are citizens. The number has decreased from 204,817 (2019-20) to 138,646 (2020-21), recording a decline of 32 percent.
