Immigrants to Denmark decrease Between July 2015 and June 2016, Denmark saw 76,034 overseas citizens enter its shores. Figures revealed by Statistics Denmark revealed that 1,113 fewer people than the previous four years had entered the country. The Local was quoted as saying that this was the first time in five years that the number of immigrants to Denmark has declined. According to Statistics Denmark, this is happening because immigration from Syria and Eritrea is decreasing.
