Immigration budget for 2022 Immigration priorities have been outlined in budget 2022. Here are the details regarding the budget. Express Entry The federal government has a proposal of making amendments to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. The amendment will authorize the immigration minister to use Ministerial Instructions for the selection of the candidates who are able to meet the needs of the labor market. The selection will be done through Express Entry. Immigration Levels Plans Canada has plans to settle 400,000 permanent residents each year. Canada has plans to spend $2.1 billion over five years. For the new funding, $317.6 million will be spent. Temporary Foreign Worker Program For the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, the government has the plans to invest $29.3 million for the coming three years. This fund will be spent for the creation of Trusted Employer Model to select candidates under TWFP. This model will be available to the employers who provide high standards of living and working conditions. This model will also help the employers to provide wages in the fields of high demand. Support services for visitors and immigrants to Canada Budget 2022 has a proposal of spending $187.3 million over the five years. The proposal of investing $37.2 million is also there, which will help IRCC to increase the number of enquiries. IRCC can spend the budget for technology and tools, which will help in providing better services to the clients. Canadian citizenship The Canadian government has plans to make amendments to the Citizenship act so that automated and machine-related processes can be made safe.
