Canada PR Visa options under Northwest Territories PNP

The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) is a pathway for foreign immigrants to fast-track their Permanent Residence applications in Canada. This program is administered jointly by the Government of the Northwest Territories and the IRCC.

Northwest Territories is the most populous and second-largest of the three territories in Canada. Yellowknife is the capital of the Northwest Territories.

The streams that are currently available under the NTNP are:

1. Critical Impact Worker Scheme: To qualify under this scheme, your occupation should be in the NOC Skill Level C or D. Also you should have at least 1 year of work experience in Canada in the same occupation. You should also be residing within Canada legally during the application process.
2. Skilled Worker Stream: Applicants who have a training or formal education in an occupation falling in the NOC O, A or B category may qualify under this stream. You should be legally residing within Canada and have at least 1 year Canadian experience in the occupation.
3. Express Entry Stream: To be eligible, an applicant must be eligible for both the Federal Express Entry Program and the NTNP Skilled Worker Stream. Under the NTNP, the Northwest Territories can nominate a few candidates from the Express Entry Pool. A candidate who receives the Nomination would be able to claim an additional 600 points, as quoted by the CIC News.
4. Entrepreneur Business Stream: To be eligible under this stream, you must be willing to invest CAD $150,000 in setting up or buying a business in Northwest Territories. To start or buy a business within Yellowknife, the investment amount would be CAD $300,000. You would also need to have acquired a personal net worth of CAD $250,000.

Your net worth should be CAD $500,000 in case you plan on setting up your business venture within Yellowknife. Businesses which can bring in significant economic benefit to Northwest Territories would be prioritized under this stream.
