The latest Express Entry draw happened on the 18th of September inviting 3,600 candidates. The minimum cut-off was 462 which is 1 point lower than the previous cut-off of 463. The previous draw was conducted on 4th September.

With the 18th September draw, the number of invitations issued in 2019 reaches 63,400.

At the same point in 2018, Canada had issued 58,600 invitations for Permanent Residence. 2018 saw a record total of 89,800 ITAs being issued.

Canada has set the admission target for all three federal high-skilled streams at 81,400 for 2019 and 85,800 for 2020.

This draw too used the tie-break rule. The date and time used were 29th August 2019 at 7:57:13 UTC, as per CIC News. This means all candidates who had created a profile before the given date and time and scored 462 or above received an ITA.

There was a 2-week gap between the previous draw on 4th September and the latest draw on 18th September. This can be attributed to the drop in the cut-off score.

Express Entry candidates who are scoring less than the minimum cut-off of the latest draw have several ways to improve their score. The most valuable among them is through a Provincial Nomination.

A Provincial Nomination gets you an extra 600 points thereby guaranteeing an ITA.

Canada has several Provincial Nominee Programs and many of them are aligned with the Federal Express Entry Program. For instance, The Alberta Express Entry Stream invited candidates with scores as less as 400 in the latest draw on 28th August.

The Saskatchewan Express-Entry aligned sub-stream requires candidates to have work experience in an in-demand occupation in the province. You do not need a job offer from the province to qualify under this stream. The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program has recently expanded the in-demand occupation list from 19 occupations to hundreds.
