Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a series of Express Entry draws in July 2023, inviting a total of 9,600 candidates. The draws included both all-program draws and category-based draws, targeting candidates with work experience in specific occupations, such as healthcare and STEM.

The highest required CRS score for any of the draws was 511, which was issued on July 4. This is significantly higher than the CRS scores required for the previous draws.

Express Entry draws in 2023

The recent Express Entry draws show that Canada continues to welcome immigrants in large numbers. In 2023 to date, IRCC has issued over 69,000 ITAs through Express Entry, which is significantly higher than the number of ITAs issued in 2022.

These draws are also a sign that Canada is targeting specific occupations with its immigration program. The healthcare and STEM draws in July 2023 are a good example of this, as they target two of the most in-demand occupations in Canada.
