Canada has committed 10 Million USD to help new immigrants find a job faster in the nation. This is under its Foreign Credential Recognition Program. It is for projects that assist newly arrived overseas immigrants to get and continue in high-paying jobs.

The funds will offer 800,000 USD maximum each for fifteen projects. These must be designed to offer employment assistance to highly skilled new immigrants to Canada. Alternatively, they can facilitate the process of recognition of their overseas credentials.

A Press Release has been released by the Employment and Social Development Canada in this regard. It says that the government seeks collaborative and innovative concepts from stakeholders. These must address exact hurdles in the integration of highly skilled newly arrived immigrants into the labour market of Canada.

Employment, Workforce Development and Labour Minister of Canada Patty Hajdu elaborated on the program. He said that the new immigrants to Canada will be assisted in getting recognized their overseas credentials. This will pace up their assimilation into the workforce in Canada, added the Minster.

We are offering more new immigrants a fair opportunity to succeed in Canada said, Hajdu. This is through seeking concepts, added the Minister.

The call for concepts is open to qualified stakeholders said ESDC. They must be involved in the recognition of overseas credentials. It also includes the assimilation of highly skilled new immigrants to Canada in the labour market. This is inclusive of unions, professional associations, and regulatory bodies, as quoted by the CIC News.

The due date for submission of concepts is 11 April 2019. Chosen applicants will be invited for developing and submitting a complete project proposal. FCRP works in collaboration with stakeholders, territories, and provinces in Canada for funding and implementing programs.
