Australian Immigration Department To Accept TOEFL IBT & PTE

Australia Immigration Department will accept TOEFL IBT & PTE from 23rd November, 2014. Till now it accepted only IELTS score for English Languages Tests, but come next week, eligible immigration aspirants can take TOEFL IBT & PTE instead of IELTS and submit the score to prove their language proficiency. However, the score has to be equivalent to the IELTS score as given below:

Competent: IELTS*- 6 or more in all bands(L;R;S;W) TOEFL IBT*- L- 12 /R-13/ W- 21/ S- 18 PTE Academic *-50 in each band(L;R;S;W)

Proficient: IELTS*- 7 or more in all bands(L;R;S;W) TOEFL IBT*- L- 24 /R-24/ W- 27/ S- 23 PTE Academic *- 65 in each band(L;R;S;W) OET – B in each component

Superior: IELTS*- 8 or more in all bands(L;R;S;W) TOEFL IBT*- L- 28 /R-29/ W- 30/ S- 26 PTE Academic*- 79 in each band (L;R;S;W) OET – A in each component

*S- Speaking, W-Writing, L- Listening, R-Reading
