APS certification goes digital for Indian students

The Academic Evaluation Centre of the German Embassy has announced that it will issue digital certificates instead of paper-printed ones. The step is being taken to keep up with the increasing number of Indian students willing to go to Germany for higher studies on a student visa.

However, the candidates participating in an exchange or partnership program will be ineligible to get the digital certificate.

From November 2022, Germany has mandated that Indian students get their academic records to be assessed by the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS). So that before applying for student visas, they can get their authenticity certificates.

These digital APS certificates will be issued in a PDF format, validated with a digital signature. After the APS verification, it will be delivered to the students via their email addresses.

Digital APS certificates

The validity of the digital APS certificates will be the same as the paper-printed certificate. These can be used for:

• Submitting documents at VFS
• Student visa applications at the German Embassy/Consulate, and
• Admission process at the Uni-Assist and at German universities.

The certificates will be issued to all German student visa applicants by April 24th, 2023, registered on the individual verification procedure.
