Alberta PNP releases details of latest AINP draw held

Alberta has released the details of the latest round of invitations held by the province under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP].

On July 27, 2021, Alberta PNP – officially referred to as the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program [AINP] – invited another 148 candidates to apply for a nomination by Alberta for permanent residence in Canada.

Invitations issued by Alberta under Canadian PNP are also referred to as Notification of Interest [NOI] letters.

The previous Alberta PNP draw was held on July 14, 2021.

The Alberta Express Entry stream is linked with the federal Express Entry system, managed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC]. Federal draws are held by IRCC from time-to-time. There is no pre-determined schedule for the Express Entry draws by IRCC.

Here, by the “ranking score” is implied the ranking of the individual in IRCC Express Entry pool of candidates. This ranking is as per the 1,200-points Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] matrix.

A PNP nomination in itself is worth 600 CRS points.

Hence, a federal Express Entry candidate with a minimum CRS 300 that has received a NOI from the AINP and is successful in securing a nomination, will end up with a cumulative CRS 900 score [that is, CRS 300 for human capital factors + CRS 600 through PNP nomination].

For an IRCC Express Entry candidate, a PNP nomination guarantees an invitation to apply by IRCC in a subsequent federal draw to be held. Applying for Canada PR through the federal Express Entry system is by invitation-only. The highest-ranked are invited by IRCC to apply. As of August 3, 2021, there were 567 candidates with their CRS in the score range of CRS 601-1,200. The total number of profiles, on the other hand, were 169,505.

With the latest round of invitations, Alberta PNP has invited a total of 2,761 to apply for a nomination by Alberta in the 15 AINP draws held so far in 2021.
