Manitoba PNP Draw Manitoba in Canada has held another round of invitations under the provincial route to Canada PR that goes through the provincial and territorial governments. On November 18, 2021, Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program [MPNP] invited a total of 428 candidates to apply for a nomination. Invitations issued by Manitoba PNP are also referred to as Letters of Advice to Apply [LAAs]. Manitoba is a part of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program [PNP], also known as Canadian PNP. The previous provincial draw by Manitoba was held on November 1, 2021.
An Overview of the November 18 Manitoba PNP draw
Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #130 Total LAAs issued: 428 Express Entry candidates invited: 68
Category Number of invitations issued Minimum EOI score required
Skilled Workers Overseas   22 Considered only if – ·         Directly invited under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative ·         Had an IRCC Express Entry ID and job seeker validation code. 726
Skilled Workers in Manitoba 376 464

Note. IRCC: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Here, by the EOI score is implied the score allotted following an assessment of the candidate’s Expression of Interest profile. The highest-scoring, that is, those displaying the highest potential of successfully settling in Manitoba, are issued invitations in MPNP draws. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RELATED Canada Skilled Immigration Points Calculator – Check your eligibility --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do keep in mind that the Express Entry candidates invited by Manitoba in the latest MPNP draw will only be eligible to receive a nomination if their IRCC Express Entry profile is valid at the time that their application is assessed by the MPNP. Candidates selected in the November 18 MPNP draw are those who had indicated that –
  • they were working in a regulated occupation, and
  • were fully licensed to work in Manitoba.
An invited candidate not actually working in a regulated occupation will have their application either rejected or returned. Those failing to provide valid proof of having gone through all the necessary licensing steps for being employed in Manitoba will also be considered similarly.
How does a PNP nomination help an IRCC Express Entry candidate?
A PNP nomination facilitates the permanent residence application process for an IRCC Express Entry candidate. A PNP nomination is worth 600 CRS points in itself. CRS stands for the 1,200-point Comprehensive Ranking System matrix. The higher the CRS score that you have, the higher the chances of your being invited by IRCC to apply for Canada PR through the Express Entry system.
There is no limit on the total number of EOIs that might be submitted to the MPNP. However, LAAs sent out by Manitoba PNP will be as per the annual allocation of nomination spaces. IRCC has allotted 5,400 base nomination spaces and 875 Express Entry spaces to Manitoba for 2021. Altogether 9,775 LAAs have been issued by Manitoba in the 25 MPNP draws held so far in 2021.
