It will be the 2nd consecutive year if it reaches its goal of including immigrants. In 2021, it broke its records by welcoming 405,000 immigrants. It has been the highest since 1931.

The IRCC or Immigration, Refugees, and Citizens Canada surpassed the immigrants target in 2021. It included 405,000 immigrants in its population last year. In 2022, the target has been increased to 431,645 new PRs or permanent residents. Canada aims to add in more than 447,055 immigrants. In 2024 more 451,000 international immigrants in Canada will be added.

Major Immigration Programs of Canada

Some of the major immigration programs of Canada are listed below: CEC The CEC or Canadian Experience Class has been the crucial program for the inclusion of new landings of the economic class. The program helped in adding approximately 7,700 immigrants. The IRCC relied on the program of CEC in 2021 to meet the immigration levels target. The CEC helped in adding almost 1/3rd immigrants. TR2PR The TR2PR or Temporary Resident to Permanent Resident Program aims for essential workers and international graduates. From May to November 2021, the program became the 2nd most significant immigrants' economic class inclusion program by including more than 7,000 international migrants in January. PNP The Provincial Nominee Program was the 3rd in the economic class immigration program. It aided in the landing of 4,200 immigrants.
