What are the requirements for Canada Immigration?

Canada offers one of the easiest and simplest immigration policies in the world. IRCC requires candidates to fulfill certain eligibility requirements and submit certain documents to be considered eligible for Canada immigration. There are several immigration pathways for Canada Immigration. The Express Entry program is the most accessible pathway for Canada PR.

Express Entry Eligibility Requirements

Express Entry is the most prominent pathway for candidates willing to migrate to Canada with a PR visa. Candidates are selected based on points acquired on a points-based system. 

 

The factors which determine the points of a candidate are:

 

  • Age (Maximum 12 points)
  • Level of Education (Maximum 25 points)
  • Work Experience (Maximum 15 points)
  • Canadian Work Experience (Maximum 15 points)
  • Language Ability (Maximum 28 points)
  • Adaptability (Maximum 10 points)
  • Arranged Employment in Canada (Maximum 10 points)

 

Candidates must have a minimum score of 67 points under the CRS points calculator to apply for the Express Entry program.

Documents required for Express Entry

You would need to provide information from the documents mentioned below:

 

  • A valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months
  • Language proficiency test reports
  • Proof of prior education in Canada  or an ECA (Educational Credential Assessment)  report
  • Proof of work experience
  • Proof of sufficient funds to support your stay in Canada
  • Canadian employment offer letter (if available)

 

Other necessary documents include:

 

  • Personal documents such as a birth certificate and marriage certificate (if applicable)
  • Police clearance certificates
  • Adoption certificate if you are sponsoring an adopted child
  • Recent passport-sized photographs
  • Proof of relationship if you have mentioned relatives already living in Canada
  • Other documents relevant to your application
