Just like the United States of America, the United Kingdom too proposed to increase the visa fee for every non-EU employee. This fee hike will go up to 1000 pounds for each employee who applies to go to the UK. In bringing about these changes, the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), has used the Information Technology sector of India as an example of provide the required recommendations.
The increase in charges needs to be understood with all the conditions that are applicable to people who apply. The charges apply per year, which means that if you are applying for a three year visa, you will have to pay an amount of 3,000 pounds. By increasing the charges of hiring people from abroad, they hope to encourage employers to put in more money in training the natives of Britain itself.
SALARIES SHOULD BE INCREASED
The UK Home Office spokesperson spoke in this regard and said that the country is grateful to the advisory committee for its valuable report and that they are waiting for a right time to respond to it accordingly. As a measure against increasing number of foreigners working in the UK, the committee recommended an increase in the salary threshold from 20,800 to 30,000 pounds.
In the year 2015, it was the Indians who got the highest number visas to the UK in September. Among all these category of Indians, it has been found that in the IT sector, Indians were the ones to get the most visa approvals. In the same context, it was revealed that Indian companies were the greatest users of intra company transfers. It was found in September that as much as 90 percent of the IT professionals are from India.
