AS PART of its continuing effort to improve customer service, the United States (US) Embassy in Manila announced its visa re-issuance program (VRP) to expedite visa renewals for Philippine visa applicants, who have been previously issued multiple entry visas to the US valid for five years or longer. Under the new program, a Philippine citizen holding an eligible US tourist visa (B1/B2) can apply for re-issuance within 12 months of its expiration date. Visa reissuance applicants will be given a priority appointment date. In most instances, applicants will need only to appear at the consular section of the embassy at the designated appointment time to submit a valid passport and application confirmation page, and to have their fingerprints digitally scanned. No interview with a consular officer will normally be needed. Cost Visa re-issuance applicants can usually expect to receive their passport containing a new US visa within a week of successful application. The cost of a US visa remains $140, and there is no additional cost for VRP appointments. This new procedure will dramatically reduce the time involved in processing applications for visa reissuance at the Embassy. 05 Aug 2011 http://www.sunstar.com.ph/cebu/feature/2011/08/05/no-interview-needed-us-visa-renewal-171072 For more news and updates, assistance with your visa needs or for a Free Assessment of your profile for Immigration or Work Visa’s just visit www.y-axis.com
