Yes, IT professionals can apply for an EU Blue Card. The individual must have academic or post-secondary educational qualifications in IT to be eligible. Higher professional qualifications with duration of at least three years (diploma, certificate, etc.) of a post-secondary education program will be accepted by any of the EU countries offering a Blue card. The EU member state country needs to recognize your educational qualifications as an IT professional. Some EU member states also allow IT professionals with no qualifications to apply for an EU Blue card, provided they have at least 3-5 years of professional work experience. To acquire an EU Blue card, an IT professional must also have a valid employment offer from the EU state country they wish to work in.
