What is International Mobility Program?

The International Mobility Program allows Canadian employers to hire foreign workers on Canadian work permits without the need for a Labor Market Assessment (LMIA). Candidates are hired on a Canada work permit to work in Canada via the IMP pathway. The International Mobility Program provides a path for foreign workers to apply for permanent residency in Canada. Types of work permits under International Mobility Program

• Canada Open-restricted work permits: These permits allow a foreign national to work for any employer but only in an occupation listed on the work permit.

A Canada-based employer that is offering the job must provide the following requirements:

• Pay a $230 employer compliance fee
• Job offers must be registered via the IMP
• Proof that both the employer who offered the job and the candidate hired to fulfill the LMIA exemption requirements
