BTech programs for University of Grenoble

Detailed information on the engineering programs at the University of Grenoble Alpes is given below:

Advanced materials for innovation and sustainability

AMIS or Master’s in Advanced Materials for Innovation and Sustainability addresses the following topics related to EIT Raw Materials, such as:

  • Replacing toxic or critical materials in products to boost their performance
  • Optimization of material chain for end-of-life products
  • Services and products designed for the circular economy

The engineering program helps students gain skills, such as:

  • Learn entrepreneurship, intellectual property, negotiation techniques, working creatively, being cooperative, problem solving, life cycle approaches, and co-design. It enables candidates to enhance their professional careers.
  • Become proficient in the field of raw materials, sustainable functional materials, and a comprehensive view of the process chain and value of the products.
  • Modify the entrepreneurship mindset to protect the sustainability of EIT Raw Materials via the research and industrial landscape.

The extensive network of laboratories helps the candidate pursue a Ph.D. program and makes it one of the top choices for international students to study abroad.

Functionalized advanced materials and engineering

The engineering program of FAME+ or Functionalized Advanced Materials and Engineering is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree program. It is organized by high-level universities in Europe and supported by ERASMUS.

The primary objective of FAME+ is to train candidates for Master’s programs who have had advanced training in Materials Research. Its candidates gain exposure to interdisciplinary as well as international aspects of modern Materials Science. It also enhances the knowledge and required skills for society and the industry.

The FAME+ program offers:

  • Advances academic and research-based education about the characterization, synthesis, and processing of all categories of materials with a focus on Ceramics, Nanomaterials, and Hybrids.
  • Mobility in the 2-year post-graduate program to take gain additional skills from the seven FAME+ associated universities.
  • Prepares the candidates to opt for a Ph.D. program in either Europe or abroad in any of the partner universities of the FAME+ network.
  • Trains qualified professionals for the materials industry.
  • Aims to meet the requirements of the academic institutions in Europe as well as across the globe, in academia and industry
  • Prepares participants to offer resolutions to Society’s Grand Challenges.

Biomedical engineering

The Biomedical Engineering program prepares candidates for various application sectors of biomedical instrumentation with inter-disciplinary skills, such as biology and engineering sciences both conceptual and practical.

Two options are offered to the students:

  • Medical imaging and nanomedicine

Students opt for this choice for a career in the evolution and therapeutical implementation of various imaging methods covering functional and structural imaging at different scales. Analysis of image and processing and the discovery of new molecular markers evolving from nanomedicine and other possible career domains.

A specialization in Structural Biology is provided through the Master in Nanomedicine and Structural Biology to join the field of ingenious drug design on the basis of molecular “structure-function” method.

  • Nanobiology and medical devices

This option helps the candidates prepare for a career in designing, developing, and implementing medical devices, such as “point of care”, implantable devices, lab-on-chip, or other miniaturized devices, or those aiming to develop the brain-computer interface.

The evolution of nanoparticles for tissue engineering, medical applications, and designing active biomaterials for therapeutical or diagnostic applications are the focus of the current development towards individualized medicine.

By opting for the two additional courses, the candidates gain a double degree merging the Engineer degree with a Master’s degree in Sciences.

The Biomedical Engineering degree is built on a background in biology and physics coupled with engineering sciences facilitating a professional career merging biomedical and physics applications.

Such innovative programs make it one of the popular choice for international students to study in France.

Nanotech

The engineering program in Micro and Nanotechnologies aimed at Integrated Systems is an adaptable study program. Candidates are subsequently integrated into the industry, at the national as well as international levels. It is supported by the interrelated skills of 3 leading universities of Europe, in education and research in the field of micro and nanotechnology.

Products of microelectronic, are used widely in daily life. It still has the scope to undergo even more advanced miniaturization.

The miniaturization is executed using expertise in nanometric and micrometric technology. The objective of this study program is to make engineers with a broad range of expertise in this field.  The fields have abundant applications in various sectors of the global economy.
