The BASc degree offered by Sciences Po is an interdisciplinary dual degree in Sciences and Liberal Arts.

The program was launched in the academic year 2020-2021. The degree is offered in association with 3 institutions of higher learning in science studies.

The program is for 4 years. Its students study abroad for 1 year.   After graduating, the candidates are awarded a BSc or Bachelor of Science degree from an associate university and a BASc or Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree from Sciences Po.

Aim of the BASc program

The aim of the program is to facilitate dialogue among disciplines, offer students the theoretical and methodological expertise necessary to address the problems of modern society, and come up with solutions.

The BASc program is research based, which challenges and solves the existing scenario, accompanied by interactive sessions taught through debates, fieldwork, and negotiation simulations.

  • Minors in Geography to Address Global Challenges

The curriculum covers disciplinary, multidisciplinary, and language studies. Candidates gain accurate and robust knowledge of international issues, such as democracy, peace, inequality, urbanization, information production and distribution, migration, food security, environmental protection, and the like.

The program explores social, political, cultural, and economic issues from an area-specific viewpoint. The perspective is integrated into an extensive analysis of the processes of globalization.

The course work of Majors in the 2nd and 3rd year offers supplementary academic freedom for candidates to develop a distinctive perspective on issues associated with their selection of geographical focus.

  • Learning about Responsible Citizenship

In the 3 years of Bachelor’s studies, the civic learning course helps candidates explore the link between civic issues offered in the program. The topics of peace, democracy, diversity, equality, environment, education, and the like are explored. The candidates have the opportunity to participate in the events and activities held by Sciences Po or initiatives in the private, public, or non-profit sectors.

The candidates are encouraged to participate in their local community, be it in France or globally.

On each campus, students have multiple opportunities to take part in socially oriented group projects, which promote leadership and self-reliance, enable collective decision-making, and take the help of imagination, and fairness to others.

Study structure in Sciences Po

The three years of the Bachelor’s program offered at Sciences Po is divided into 2 years of studies in France and a year of study abroad.

The 1st year of the undergraduate program focuses on the study of the fundamental disciplinary courses.

In the 2nd year, candidates choose 1 out of the 3 multidisciplinary majors. The major options are:

The undergraduate institution comprises 7 campuses, where all the candidates pursue the same fundamental courses in the social sciences and humanities.  Additionally, each campus offers a particular geographical minor:
