A Spouse visa has a validity of 30 months, after this period you can apply for a further extension of 30 months. This will let you stay for a total of five years in the UK after which you can apply for an indefinite leave to remain (ILR), with which you can stay permanently in the country.
A Spouse visa allows you to work for any sector or employer in the UK on a full-time or part-time basis.
While changing from a Tier 5 visa to a Spouse visa you can continue to stay in the country based on the conditions of the Tier 5 visa till you get your Spouse visa. You can also continue to work during the transition period.
