Andrew Wong and Stuart Minnar launched one of the first student-led venture funds for social impact in Europe - Fundie Ventures. They were driven by a sense of common purpose. This was utilizing their social impact venture to spearhead the conversation in MBA classroom for a social change. They also wanted to build the infrastructure for businesses for enacting positive social development.

Wong and Minnar are at present acting a fresh venture consultancy. This is even as they raise funds for the venture as well as setting up funds at other European schools. They work in close partnership with Ecole des Ponts, in France and IESE in Spain.

Stuart says that students are offered what they have built in the last few years. This is categorized for diverse business schools. Thus what they just need to do is bring in students and get started.

Our plan is to branch out to the top ten European business schools in 2019 said Minnar. The same consultancy expertise will be offered to these schools that we have developed via FV, he added.

Minnar said that the first step is assessing the investment readiness. If a firm is investment-ready, then we source funds for them, he added. Another aspect is assessing gaps within the startups. This could be a strategy consulting or financial evaluation. We cater to these aspects also, said Minnar.

Stuart said that the idea was motivated by a sense of responsibility. Studying at the IE Business School, I always wanted to do something regarding the perception of business in the 21st century, he added.
