Limiting work visa rights for overseas students will decimate NZ international education sector said, Craig Musson, and the Chairperson of the Independent Tertiary Education New Zealand. He has called upon the government to identify the dissimilarity between low quality and low-level qualifications.
Chairperson of the Independent Tertiary Education New Zealand said that many institutions are providing sub-degree programs that have high quality. Overseas Students who have the potential to fill the jobs and are highly productive taxpayers will be denied Work visa rights, added Musson.
There could be a handful of students that would have misused the system and much focus is being given to them, elaborated the Chairperson. Even the employers are imitating this trend, as quoted by the Radionz Co NZ. Every business including international education sector needs to deliver quality products.
They also have to cater to the market needs, he added. If they are not offered the work visa rights that they deserve, overseas students will choose to not to Study in New Zealand, cautioned Musson.
The Independent Tertiary Education New Zealand supports the agencies of the government to identify wrongdoers across the board, said Craig Musson. One of the leading Immigration attorneys in New Zealand said that overseas students have chosen only those nations that offer working rights.
Many students had arrived in New Zealand with the hope of being able to work and obtain a PR. These students are now feeling cheated as the programs chosen by them was actually promoted by the government and agents.
The Immigration agents in New Zealand have said that they are receiving complaints from several overseas students. The common complaint was that they all feel cheated now.
