UK HO profiteering from citizenship: Amnesty International

UK HO – the Home Office is profiteering from citizenship applications, specifically from child applicants said Amnesty International. The child applicants have to pay 973 pounds for the Citizenship application. The applicants who are aged above 18 years have to pay 1, 282 pounds.

UK HO has claimed that the organizational expenditure for a citizenship registration is around 386 pounds. This implies that from the citizenship application of a child, it makes a profit of 587 pounds.

Amnesty International has said that the UK HO has been incurring profits from child applicants in this manner for almost 10 years. In this way, it has deprived of the rightful citizenship to countless kids who just cannot pay for the high fees, as quoted by the QZ Com.

On the other hand, if a candidate copes up and arranges the fees they can also be refused the registration. In this case, they must make a payment of additional 321 pounds to get that decision reviewed from the Home Office.

The UK Citizenship fees are amongst the most costly globally. An adult applying for obtaining the naturalized UK Citizenship has to make a payment of 1, 807 pounds for the application. This is a number that dwarfs the fees of other nations such as 727 $ for the US, 505 $ for Canada, and 319 $ for Germany.
