UAE nationals are now eligible for visa on arrival when they travel to India. This announcement was recently made by the Government of India. The move was motivated by a need to encourage contact between the people of the two nations and to maintain better trade relations.
The visa-on-arrival facility will be available to UAE nationals for a period of up to 60 days with a double-entry facility for business, medical, tourism or conference purposes.
The visa on arrival facility for UAE nationals will be available at international airports in these six cities- Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.
The visa on arrival facility will be available to those UAE nationals who have earlier obtained an e-visa or a normal paper visa for India. It does not matter if they have visited India or not. First-time visitors from the UAE are advised to apply for an e-visa or a paper visa.
People in the Indian tourism industry have welcomed the move hoping it will have a positive impact on tourism, medical tourism and other businesses in India. The move, it is hoped will encourage more tourists from UAE to India. The move is expected to boost medical tourism as well.
