With effect from 17th March 2020, the UAE has suspended the issuance of all Entry Visas. The only exemption will be those who hold diplomatic passports.
People who have already obtained Visas before 17th March would still have valid Visas.
The FAIC (Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship) issued a statement saying that stopping the issuance of Entry Visas is a preventive measure to stop the Coronavirus outbreak. The World Health Organization has declared the Coronavirus outbreak as a global pandemic. Travelling at this point in time is potentially dangerous and could cause the virus to spread even more.
The FAIC declared that the decision to stop issuing Entry Visas would continue till other nations take up more stringent screening. Unless the country of departure has a robust mechanism for medically screening passengers before they depart, the UAE will not issue any Visas.
The UAE announced that it is committed to combating the spread of the deadly Coronavirus. The UAE stands in solidarity with other countries of the world in fighting this global pandemic.
