In July 2019, U.A.E. Cabinet passed a resolution granting visa waiver to children below 18, who are accompanied by adults.
As per the July 15 announcement, it was the approval by the U.A.E Cabinet of a decision for exempting the “accompanying dependents” below 18 years of age from visa fees, of foreign tourists visiting the U.A.E. from July 15 to September 15 each year. This was the first time that this visa waiver came into effect.
As per the announcement in July by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA), the waiver was to be in effect from July 15 to September 15 each year.
The visa waiver has come to an end recently on September 15 for 2019.
A popular tourist destination, U.A.E. gets a lot of tourists in any given year. The visa waiver was quite popular and got a good response from tourists from different parts of the world.
Targeted at the families of expats that might plan on visiting their loved ones for the summer holidays in the U.A.E., the visa waiver meant a significant saving for families.
As per Rania Kakos Yazbeck, the Marketing Manager of Omeir Travels, “July to September are off-peak season for tourists.” Despite the summer being harsh which makes people avoid travelling to the U.A.E., there is no better time to visit the U.A.E. if you consider the cost factor. Hotels and airfare are both cheaper during this period. An added bonus of visa fee waiver is a great motivation for those travelling with children.
As a prime destination attracting families and visitors from across the world, U.A.E. enjoys a prominent position in the global tourism sector.
